Occupational Medicine

Referans Medical Group provides comprehensive medical services to organizations in the fields of occupational medicine and employee health. Our services are delivered in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, occupational medicine principles, and international standards, including STCW and OEUK (formerly OGUK) requirements.

Our goal is to protect employee health, ensure early identification of occupational risks, prevent occupational diseases, and objectively assess fitness for work. Medical examinations are organized according to the employee’s position, working conditions, and existing risk factors.

Referans Medical Group provides the following services:
-  Pre-Employment and Periodic medical examinations for onshore and offshore employees;
-  Seafarer medical examinations in accordance with STCW requirements;
-  Medical assessments in accordance with OEUK (formerly OGUK) requirements;
-  Return-to-Work examinations;
-  Health monitoring programs for employees exposed to occupational risks;
-  Medical examinations for drivers, special equipment operators, and employees working in other high-risk occupations;
-  Medical examinations and health monitoring for employees in the food industry, catering facilities, kitchens, and cafeterias.

Medical examinations include physician consultations, laboratory tests, electrocardiography (ECG), X-ray examinations, vision and hearing tests, functional assessments, and other examinations based on the specific characteristics of the working environment. Thanks to the more than 7,000 laboratory tests available across 10 main departments at Referans Clinical Laboratory Center, the vast majority of analyses are performed in-house under unified quality control.

In addition, Referans Medical Group organizes and manages medical services at company facilities and workplaces:
-  Pre-shift and pre-trip medical examinations at company premises;
-  Daily assessment of the health status of drivers, operators, and other employees belonging to high-risk groups;
-  Alcohol and drug testing when necessary;
-  Issuance of medical fitness-for-work assessments;
-  Establishment and management of medical stations at company facilities;
-  Organization and provision of comprehensive employee medical check-ups through mobile medical teams at company premises;
-  Emergency medical and first aid services;
-  Medical support on vessels, including ship doctors and medical personnel, crew health monitoring, and emergency medical care.

The primary purpose of these medical stations is to protect employee health, provide prompt medical assistance in emergencies, reduce work-related downtime, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of projects. With on-site physicians, paramedics, and ambulance teams, medical incidents can be addressed immediately. When necessary, medical evacuation and transportation to specialized healthcare facilities are organized. Through our Referans Ambulance and Air Ambulance services, domestic and international medical evacuations are coordinated under a unified system.
