The first medical conference was held in Shusha city!

On July 30, 2022, the first medical conference titled “Evacuation and emergency surgery of patients in mountain-desert conditions” was held in Shusha with the organization of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB)”, the Center for Public Health and Reforms, “Referans Medical Group” and “Uptodate in Medicine”. About 120 health specialists took part in this remarkable event.

 

The event began with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, demonstrated remarkable courage and superior combat capability and liberated our lands from the enemy occupation.

 

Our victorious Army, including soldiers and officers writing glorious history, demonstrated to the whole world the determination to fight for the rights of Azerbaijan and the true fighting spirit. In achieving this victory, a significant role of our professional doctors and other healthcare specialists who performed duties on the front line together with our soldiers from the first day of the war was particularly emphasized in the event. At the same time, during the conference, health specialists who participated in the 44-Day Patriotic War shared their experiences with their colleagues.

 

When delivering speeches at the conference, professional doctors, touched upon the topics such as determining the mechanism of injury using first aid methods, features of Prehospital Emergency Medical Care in man-made disasters, principles of treatment of airway injuries (damage to respiratory tract) and cardiac arrests in mountain-desert climatic conditions, as well as diagnosis of life-threatening conditions related to trauma were the subjects of discussion. At the end of the conference, commemorative plaques were presented to the event participants.

 

It should be pointed out that in the second half of the day, the conference participants visited historical mosques and monuments located in Shusha, the cultural and historical capital of Azerbaijan.
